Ginninderra Falls: Urgent!

The closing date for the Yass Valley Council public consultation has been extended to 5.00pm Friday 17 May so you have this week to put in your own submission. Numbers matter and it is critical for as many people as possible to submit their own objection to the development proposal even if the submission is simple and brief.

There is only a limited time left for you to make your submission on the NSW Planning Proposal

As mentioned on Tuesday, the community consultation process has commenced for the Parkwood Planning Proposal on the NSW part of the cross border Ginninderry development.

You can use the Yass Valley Council's Public Consultation online submission or you can use an online submission which we have added to our website.

Our first Patron, Dr Bryan Pratt, died last Friday.

Dr Pratt played a prominent role in the working party set up by the Belconnen Community Council to look into cross-border issues relating to West Belconnen. The group, which usually met at Dr Pratt's tackle shop, recommended that this area become a national park. This was the initial Proposal for a Murrumbidgee - Ginninderra Gorges National Park.

Ginninderry Stage 1

Most of you will be aware by now that our appeal against Ginninderry Stage 1 to the ACT Civil and Administrative Appeals Tribunal was withdrawn in February. For us the critical deal was the agreement by all parties involved on further measures to protect the Little Eagle and Scarlet Robin. Dr Steve Debus, a well-known bird expert who has worked on the Little Eagle in New England, has now joined the ACT Government’s Little Eagle Research Panel.
