Cross Border Working Group
The ACT Chief Minister and a number of others pointed us in the direction of an ACT and NSW joint committee looking into this area. This committee kindly agreed to hear us and accordingly we went in and gave them a presentation supporting our proposal for a national park encompassing the Ginninderra Falls and the surrounding area of the Murrumbidgee river.
Unfortunately this particular committee has now been wound up so we still need to establish an intergovernmental working group to review our proposal and other suggestions, for example, from Riverview. While there is no conflict with the objectives of any of these ideas or even the earlier private park run by the Hyles family, the devil will be in the detail.
The Ginninderra Falls committee is continuing to work on this.
Winter General Meeting
The guest speaker for our next community meeting will be Meredith Hunter. The date and time is Tuesday, 26 August from 8:00PM and we will go back to the Belconnen Library for this meeting.
This meeting will double-up as the Annual General Meeting of the Ginninderra Falls Association Inc. Nominations are called for the following positions:
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Committee
