MINUTES.  GFA Ordinary meeting Thur 20  Feb 2020

Summary of Actions.

3 iv) ACTION.   Darryl to circulate copy of “final” Ian Trapnell brochure to the committee.

5 iii) ACTION. Robyn to send a formal thankyou note to Jason fro all the work he has put in on the fire issues 

1. Acceptance of the minutes of last meeting (Thu 16th Jan Nov 2020)

2. Treasurers report
   1. 1. $220.49 at bank.   Insurance has been paid.  
      2. We have had 22 renewals of membership

3. Web masters report.
   1. 1. ANNC report has been sent in?   or is about to be sent in not sure.
      2. Brochure with Ian Trapnell’s graphics.   Darryl will circulate the final production.  It is 3XA4 pages with 6 prints.
      3. DISCUSSION of best format for the brochure.
      4. ACTION.   Darryl to circulate copy of “final” Ian Trapnell brochure to the committee.

4. EPBC ACT review. 
   1. 1. Robyn.  Our submission will be separate to that f the EDO
      2. Submission is due when.   People not sure maybe there has been an extension.
      3. Robyn.   I am just doing a short overview.
      4. Mentions the Ginninderry “site specific conservation boundaries”.
      5. EPBC act does not cover the issue of species “stopping species becoming threatened”.  It just deals with species which are current threatened or vulnerable. 

5. Other business.
   1. 1. DISCUSSION of Jason Sharples talk.
      2. Rosemary.  Pyrocumulus effects from extreme fire events need to be emphasised.    We need to try and reach a new audience not just talk to the converted.  There are lots of questions still to be answered as a result of the recent bushfires.
      3. ACTION. Robyn to send a formal thankyou note to Jason fro all the work he has put in on the fire issues  

6. Other business.  Climate Crisis.
   1. 1. Public protest.    Glebe Park  Sat 22nd at Glebe Park.
      2. Politics at the Pub.    Civic Pub.   Wed 26th Feb at 6:00pm.

7. Other business.  Letter to Yvette Berry.
   1. 1. Doug formally congratulates Robyn for the work she has put in on writing this letter.

8. Other business .   Co-managed gazetted aboriginal area.
   1. 1. Chris suggested that it might be worth looking a co-management of the Conservation as practised for the Namoi Park , in NSW??.   Depending on further research into what "co-managed gazetted aboriginal area" actually means and whether national park status is required.
