The Ginninderra Falls Association was formed in 2011 arising from concerns to protect the Murrumbidgee and Ginninderra gorges and falls area, covering both landscape and biodiversity.  The land bounded by these waterways is now proposed for major greenfields urban development which presents issues with the interface between the urban area and the natural environment.  We, therefore, welcome the opportunity to comment on ACT development application processes and wish to focus on the second and third Terms of Referenc

The NPWS acknowledges that the Indigenous peoples of Australia are the original custodians of the lands and waters, animals and plants of NSW and its many and varied landscapes. The NPWS staff statement of reconciliation gives a commitment to invite greater involvement of Aboriginal communities in the management of all areas under NPWS control.

Summary of property assessment conducted by National Parks and Wildlife Service at Ginninderra Falls

Introduction

The Ginninderra Falls area is located north west of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) border in the vicinity of the Murrumbidgee River corridor and Ginninderra Creek confluence. Three parcels of land in this area totalling 274 ha's have been offered to NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) for potential acquisition.
